I ran my hand along the stair rail, touching the smooth wood, cherishing the reminder of simpler times - and promptly dismissed the lie of nostalgia. I've been this, longer than my distant memories. I sighed finally reaching the bottom of the stairs.
The alternative - my antithesis, my twin, Alec - stood in the room I had just stepped in. I swayed toward him with a slightly mad look in my eye. Every stray thought of chaos and discord I found a way to Alec's spirit instead.
